Story details
Nornickel subsidiary Norilskgazprom has brought five production wells online at the Pelyatka gas condensate field in Taimyr. In a September 10 release, the company described it as the first large-scale project at the region’s key gas asset in a decade. The wells raised the operating well count from 41 to 46 and added a combined 2 million cubic metres a day of production capacity.
The field, 170 kilometres northwest of Dudinka, supplies 80% of Taimyr’s gas output, according to Nornickel. The five wells have a combined drilling length of more than 15 kilometres, with horizontal sections longer than 600 metres in two wells. All five were connected to existing infrastructure in 2026. The company put project investment at RUB 10 billion and said the added gas is intended to serve Norilsk operations and social infrastructure in Norilsk and Dudinka.
