Story details

Pakistan Railways completed a lease auction for 125 commercial godowns in Lahore’s Badami Bagh area. Under the finalized terms, annual lease revenue will rise from PKR72.2 million to PKR331.08 million, according to a Pakistani government statement dated October 1. The railway operator will also receive PKR277.72 million upfront as a one-year security deposit.

The statement put first-year receipts from rent and the deposit together at PKR608.80 million. The deposit is a separate upfront security payment, not recurring annual rental income. The auction is intended to increase returns from the railway’s commercial property; the announcement did not identify the tenants or specify future occupancy levels.
