Story details
Pakistan’s fish and seafood exports reached $125.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2026–27. Figures announced by Maritime Affairs Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry on October 5 show receipts were about 34.5% above the $93.28 million recorded in the same quarter a year earlier. Compared with $71.9 million in the first quarter of FY2024–25, the two-year increase was about 74.4%.
Export volume rose from 35,294 metric tonnes in Q1 FY2024–25 to 43,995 tonnes in Q1 FY2025–26 and 61,679 tonnes in Q1 FY2026–27, a roughly 40.2% increase over the latest year. The minister cited access to Russia and initiatives to resume shrimp exports to the United States as market-development efforts. The statement described US shipments as an effort to resume, not as exports already restarted.
