Story details
Norway’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries proposed on 7 October strengthening the country’s business-promotion work in foreign markets through the 2027 budget. It proposes NOK 395 million for Innovation Norway’s export mandate and overseas offices, with the activity more clearly branded as Business Norway. The government also proposes consolidating export-promotion instruments within one ministry.
The proposal includes transferring NOK 20 million from the Foreign Ministry for business activities at Norwegian missions abroad and NOK 40 million in 2027 support for Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), which aims to help Norwegian energy companies win overseas contracts. These amounts are budget proposals, not approved spending or demonstrated outcomes for firms.
