Story details
Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima commissioned the new corporate headquarters of Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company in Victoria Island, Lagos, on October 2, according to a report from the Office of the Vice President carried by the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. Chief executive and founder Winifred Akpani said the facility was designed to support collaboration, operational efficiency and innovation. The announcement gave no cost, size, staffing or expected output figures.
Northwest Petroleum is an indigenous petroleum-products marketer whose activities include exporting, importing, trading, storing and supplying crude oil and refined products, the ministry report said. The company was founded in 1998. It commissioned a lubricant-blending plant at Ijegun-Egba and a retail station in Maryland, Lagos, in 2023; those earlier facilities are separate from the headquarters opening. The ministry described the new office as a corporate investment but announced no new production facility, contract or quantified job creation.
