Story details

APM Terminals signed a memorandum of understanding in Copenhagen on 8 September with Badagry Port Development Ltd and Quinn McGrath Marine and Environmental Services for a proposed new port project at Badagry. The company said the agreement commits the parties to exclusive negotiations to explore development.

APM said the proposed deepwater capacity could accommodate larger container vessels and help ease congestion at city ports. These are potential benefits; the release does not announce a construction decision, financing amount or extension of the existing Apapa and Onne concessions.
