First phase of Abu Dhabi’s AED2.85 billion Mid-Island Parkway due in 2027
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport said the AED2.85 billion first phase of Mid-Island Parkway is scheduled for completion in 2027. The road will connect the northern E12 interchange on Saadiyat Island to its southern end and Umm Yifeenah Island.
Phase One includes an eight-lane dual carriageway and four kilometres of walking and cycling tracks. The department expects the connection to cut trips to Reem Island or Abu Dhabi’s main island from 25 minutes to 10 minutes once it opens.
The project also includes 23,000 metres of energy-saving smart lighting and locally sourced or recycled materials. The travel-time reduction is a forecast from the department; the road is not yet complete.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
