Story details

Mauritania’s Multisectoral Regulatory Authority and the United Nations Development Programme held a September 28 workshop on regulatory and institutional capacity for electricity mini-grids. Participants examined tariff-setting tools, licensing, service quality and consumer protection.

The work aims to balance affordable service for households with operators’ financial viability while expanding access in remote and rural areas. The workshop did not adopt a new tariff or binding rule; it was intended to develop practical recommendations.
