Story details
The Marche regional government approved a bill on 19 October to define suitable locations for renewable-energy installations. The region said 1,478 MW of capacity is installed, authorized or under construction, leaving 868 MW to reach its 2030 target.
The proposal prioritizes sites such as industrial areas, public property, disused quarries and roofs of farm buildings, while excluding protected natural areas and designated landscape zones. Suitable agricultural areas would be capped between 0.8% and 3% of the region’s utilized agricultural area. The bill now goes to the regional council for final consideration.
