The Malian government said on October 2 that its September 30 cabinet meeting adopted draft texts from the Ministry of Mines. The package covers first or second renewals of 10 gold and group-two mineral exploration permits. The listed companies and sites include COMICAR, Hongda Liujiu Mali, Robex Mali, Dansoko Gold Mine, Wagadou Explore, Yong Xin Mines and Africa Mining.

Most draft decrees concern first three-year extensions after a renewal suspension that ran from December 2022 to March 2025; one concerns a second renewal. These are exploration permits, not operating or production licences. The cabinet also adopted draft texts to establish a School of Mines and Petroleum and restructure the mineral-resources programme as a public scientific and technological research agency. The government did not report formal promulgation or new production commitments.
