Story details
Mali’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, Issa Ousmane Coulibaly, presented figures on transfers to local authorities during a review meeting with Bloomfield Investment Corporation, according to a government statement published October 2. The government said more than FCFA 440 billion was transferred to territorial authorities in 2024, equal to 20.32% of state budget revenue.
The statement says the National Agency for Investment by Territorial Authorities (ANICT) channels investment into education, health, water, sanitation and local infrastructure. Digitising civil-registration services and modernising market management were also identified as priorities. Bloomfield’s delegation was collecting information to reassess reforms and implementation in the ministry’s remit; the government statement did not announce a new credit rating from the meeting.
