Story details

Jordan’s Ministry of Investment said three agreements for new projects were signed during Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh’s September 20 visit to the Rawdah Industrial Zone in Ma’an. Petra reported that the projects cover food industries, fluorine products and agricultural pesticides, and nitrogen fertilizers. The ministry described planned investment of about JOD 5.2 million and expected creation of dozens of jobs.

The agreements form part of efforts to attract projects to Rawdah, which is operated by Ma’an Development Company. The announcement does not say construction or operations have begun, or that the planned capital or jobs have been realized. The minister’s visit also reviewed production, expansion plans and export potential at existing fertilizer and paper-industry businesses.
