Story details
Jordan’s Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) opened its 2026–2027 training year on October 4 at 34 institutes and centres of excellence across the country. Petra reported that 5,134 people enrolled in the second cycle from 13,255 applications. The corporation said its programmes focus on practical vocational skills and specializations aligned with labour-market needs.
Women accounted for 41% of enrolment; their regional shares were 73% in the south, 46% in the north and 35% in the central region. Amman registered 1,223 trainees, Irbid 879 and Balqa 740. Popular programmes included women’s hairdressing, men’s hairdressing and data entry; specialized options included hybrid-vehicle electromechanics. Enrolment figures show demand for training, not graduation or job-placement outcomes.
