Story details
Jordanian Agriculture Minister Saeb Khreisat said on September 15 that the country’s fruit and vegetable exports increased 18.6% year on year to about 448,000 tonnes in the first eight months of 2026. Petra reported his remarks at the opening of an agricultural exports conference in Amman; the comparison was 378,000 tonnes in the same period of 2025.
Khreisat said vegetable exports rose 19.1% and fruit exports 17.8%. The statement gives the combined tonnage and growth rates for the two groups, but no product-level or destination breakdown. This fruit-and-vegetable volume measure has a different scope and unit from the Department of Statistics’ first-half value series for total merchandise exports.
