Iraq trains SOMO staff in data analysis using seven quality tools
Iraq’s Ministry of Planning held a data-analysis course using seven quality tools for State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) staff from 5 to 11 October. The ministry’s 11 October announcement said 29 company employees took part.
Iraq’s Ministry of Planning delivered a specialist course at SOMO from 5 to 11 October 2026 titled “Data analysis using the seven quality tools.” In an announcement dated 11 October, the ministry said 29 members of the company’s staff participated. The course was delivered by a ministry unit responsible for quality management and institutional development.
The ministry said the programme covered systematic analysis of data, identifying possible root causes of problems and assessing responses based on findings, alongside practical exercises. The announcement reports no measured improvement in SOMO’s operating results or specific financial effect from the training.
Egypt’s General Petroleum Corporation reported 12 oil discoveries and a 22% reduction in energy use in fiscal 2025/26. It put average daily production at about 77,000 barrels of oil equivalent.

The province’s exports declined 0.9% and imports 5.7% month over month in August; exports were down 2.7% year over year for the first eight months while imports rose 1.3%.
