Story details

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the first phase of the expanded Mojo Modern Logistics Centre on 10 September, the Ethiopian News Agency reported. The 60-hectare facility includes terminals and warehouses with a stated design capacity of up to one million 20-foot containers annually.

Abiy said domestic packaging of dry bulk goods could save foreign currency and create jobs. The centre includes Ethiopia’s first rail-mounted gantry crane and a digital logistics system. The announcement gives the facility’s designed capacity; it does not report actual annual throughput or a number of jobs created.
