Story details

Equinor subsidiary East Point Energy said on September 3 that construction was complete and operations had begun at Citrus Flatts in Harlingen, Texas. The facility has 100 MW of power capacity and 200 MWh of energy storage.

Citrus Flatts is East Point’s second operating battery in Texas and its largest U.S. storage project to date. Equinor said it will operate in the ERCOT market alongside Sunset Ridge; together, the projects can supply enough electricity for about 30,000 homes for up to two hours.
