ENGIE said on September 4 that its worldwide energy-storage portfolio had reached 10.7 GW of capacity in operation and under construction. The figure combines battery energy storage systems with pumped-storage hydropower; it is not an operating-only or battery-only total. In Europe, the company added 1.1 GW of battery power capacity and 3.3 GWh of storage energy across seven countries during July and August.

The company reported 4.7 GW of combined storage capacity in Europe and 4.4 GW in the United States. It linked the additions to its goal of 95 GW of installed renewable and storage capacity by 2030. The September update also described new and operating projects in Poland, Romania, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Scotland and the Netherlands.
