At a 24 September press conference, Egypt’s Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi said average gas consumption was 6,458.36 million cubic feet a day in the winter period from October 2025 to March 2026 and 7,281.56 million cubic feet a day in the summer period of July–August 2026. Badawi also said gas use equivalent to electricity generation rose from a winter average of 109.15 million cubic metres a day to 154.55 million in summer, an increase of 41.6%. The ministry reported at the same briefing that 75,000 vehicles were converted to natural gas during fiscal 2025–26 and EGP 6.1 billion was invested in main transmission networks. The consumption figures are ministry statements; the report does not provide a separate methodology note or independent verification.
