Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) said in a 16 September announcement that Dubai ranked first worldwide for FinTech in the latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) assessment. DIFC also reported that Dubai placed second for professional services and sixth for reputation, and ranked first for future potential in four report editions. The index is produced by Z/Yen and the China Development Institute.

The methodology cited by DIFC combines 39,531 assessments from professionals with 143 instrumental factors. Such rankings combine survey perceptions and selected quantitative indicators; they are not measures of FinTech company revenue, investment or employment. The result describes Dubai’s relative position in the index and does not itself establish a growth rate or guarantee future performance.
