Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee reported on 12 October that consumer prices in January–September 2026 were 5.7% higher than in the same period last year. In September, the index rose 0.9% from August and 5.5% from September 2025. These rates describe different comparisons: a nine-month period, a monthly change and a year-on-year change for September.

Within the September breakdown, food, alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices increased 1.4% month on month and 6.9% year on year. Non-food prices rose 0.4% monthly and 3.6% annually, while paid services increased 0.6% and 5.1%, respectively. The Committee listed price declines for butter, lemons, apples, pears, grapes, kiwifruit, nuts and white cabbage. The aggregate index does not explain each product’s movement or its effect on household budgets.
