Story details

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is preparing the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference, branded EV World 2026, for 10–12 November at Dubai World Trade Centre. In a report dated 4 October, Emirates News Agency (WAM) said preparations included a cooperation agreement with China EV100, an alliance focused on electric vehicles in China. The stated purpose is to broaden participation by Chinese companies and institutions and support cooperation in industry, technology and research and development. The report says the agreement is intended to connect those capabilities with investment and commercial opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and the wider region. RTA’s earlier event announcement confirms the dates, venue and theme, “Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future.”

The October report gives a larger programme and attendance outlook than the February announcement. Organisers expect more than 300 companies, authorities and organisations, over 30 business partners, 70 speakers and more than 10,000 industry specialists and other interested visitors. These are forecasts, not confirmed attendance figures. The listed exhibition areas include electric vehicle manufacturing and operations, battery management, hydrogen fuel cells, sustainable energy technologies, fast charging, smart infrastructure, unmanned aerial vehicles and autonomous systems. WAM also reports that RTA officials met China EV100 chairman Zhang Yongwei to discuss cooperation and international partnerships, and that the organising committee conducted promotional visits in China, Germany, Belgium and India. The report describes these activities as preparations to attract specialist organisations and broaden international participation.

The event is framed as a platform for the electric mobility supply chain rather than only a vehicle display. Its programme is intended to bring together manufacturers, investors, infrastructure developers, public bodies and technology providers, while the conference will address the sector’s investment and deployment challenges. WAM identifies charging infrastructure, battery management and vehicle-grid integration among topics relevant to wider electric vehicle adoption. The authority has previously said the event will include electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, charging and sustainable energy technologies, smart infrastructure, air mobility and autonomous systems. The October update adds the China EV100 agreement and partner outreach to that earlier description; it does not establish how many Chinese exhibitors have registered or identify individual commercial deals. The November gathering is upcoming, so the participation totals remain expectations. RTA presents the event as part of its longer-term push for zero-emission public transport, but the announcement itself does not report a newly completed fleet conversion or a measured emissions reduction resulting from EV World.
