UNICEF briefs 100 youth leaders on Ebola in Butembo
UNICEF held an Ebola information briefing in Butembo attended by 100 youth leaders from 20 groups. The agency aimed to address misinformation and rumors and support community trust in the response.
A 29 September UNICEF account said 100 youth leaders from 20 pressure groups in Butembo attended an in-depth briefing on Ebola and UNICEF’s response activities. The agency described how gaps in information could contribute to rumors and distrust of response teams.
The briefing aimed to encourage participants to share what they learned in their communities, address misinformation and rumors, and support confidence in prevention work and response actors. UNICEF also said it had engaged journalists, motorcycle-taxi drivers and local authorities in dialogue. The account describes an information activity; it does not report a measured change in attitudes or behavior.
The 2 October bulletin reports different case and death totals across the three countries and cautions that data are provisional and may be underreported.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
