CMU-Q launches accelerator grants for seven research projects
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar has created a grant programme to support longer-term faculty research across disciplines. Seven projects were selected for the first cycle, with smaller seed grants and an undergraduate research award also added.
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) announced its Accelerator grant programme on 13 September to support faculty research. The seven projects in its first cycle span breast and colorectal cancer research, mathematics, quantum materials, indoor navigation and the study of science fiction.
The university also said it will offer smaller Incubator grants for early-stage ideas and start-up support for new faculty members. Undergraduate students taking part in CMU-Q’s summer research programme may continue their projects for up to 10 hours a week during one academic year through a new award, following mentor nomination.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
