Story details
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) said on 28 September that Beijing-headquartered investment bank China Securities had received a licence to establish a regional office at the centre. The firm was also authorised by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), the independent regulator for financial services conducted in or from DIFC. Its activities include equity and debt capital markets, investment banking, asset management and institutional services.
DIFC said the office would support the group’s engagement with clients, investors and financial institutions across the Middle East. China Securities joins a cluster of Chinese financial institutions already based at the centre. DIFC said China’s five largest banks together account for more than 30 per cent of assets in its Banking and Capital Markets sector. That figure is not a measure of China Securities’ share or of investment generated by the new office.
