Story details
The Government of Canada said on September 14 that it welcomed Bell Canada’s plan to expand Bell AI Fabric capacity in Saskatchewan. The federal release said the proposed project could add up to 900 megawatts, on a path toward a 1.2-gigawatt Canadian AI infrastructure hub in the province.
The planned total capital investment could reach C$52.5 billion and the project could create 4,500 high-quality jobs, according to the government announcement. These are elements of Bell’s plan, not completed outcomes. The release also said the federal government was exploring options to support up to six gigawatts of new data-centre capacity and more than C$100 billion in potential investment across Canada.
