Story details
Frontier Lithium said on September 10 it had awarded DRA Americas an updated feasibility study for the mine and mill stage of its PAK lithium project in northwestern Ontario. The company said the work will incorporate engineering completed since its 2025 study, value-engineering results, permitting progress and infrastructure planning. Completion is targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
The review is expected to assess process design, mass and water-balance modelling, geotechnical work, operating assumptions and throughput scenarios. Frontier’s earlier technical study reported an after-tax net present value of C$932 million at an 8% discount rate over a 31-year project life; that was a 2025 estimate, not an outcome of the new study. Frontier disclosed a 92.5% interest in PAK, with Mitsubishi Corporation holding 7.5%.
