Story details

Xcite Uranium said on October 5 that diamond drilling had begun at the past-producing Black Bay uranium mine in Saskatchewan and that it had added a second drill rig. The company’s plan calls for six holes totalling 1,300 metres, targeting uranium mineralization identified through historical work and 2025–2026 field programs. The Black Bay project is about 20 kilometres south of Uranium City.

Xcite put the project’s approved 2026 budget at approximately C$1.1 million, including C$125,000 for completed fieldwork and C$975,000 for drilling. The release also summarized uranium values from recent field sampling and historical records, while cautioning that some past-operator results have not been verified by a qualified person. No assay results from the new drilling were reported. The work is exploration, not evidence of a new reserve or a production restart.
