Story details
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum signed two contracts worth a combined $13.8 million with a Tatarstan-based company, Bakhtar News Agency reported on 7 September. About $2.8 million is allocated to one year of supervision and consultancy at the Amu Darya oil field; $11 million covers the first phase of flexible oil-production facilities in the Zomorodsai Block of Qush Tepa district, Jawzjan.
The ministry expects the design and installation work to take eight months and says the completed facilities are planned to process 2,000 tonnes of oil per day. Those are contract plans and intended capacity; the report does not say the additional capacity is already operating.
