Afghanistan’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said residential plots had been distributed to 73,102 returning families nationwide. In a statement reported by Bakhtar, the ministry said that during the previous week 800 families in Nangarhar, 450 in Kunduz and 35 in Samangan received plots, with distribution continuing.

The allocations are part of a programme intended to support permanent settlement and help returnee families establish homes, overseen by a committee led by the ministry. The statement gave no plot sizes, title conditions, total land area or information on whether families had built homes.
