Story details
Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi met on 6 October with an Iranian delegation led by Mohsen Zanganeh, head of the Iranian parliament’s Special Commission for Supporting Production. The ministry’s press office said the discussions covered joint industrial programmes, a dedicated industrial park in Afghanistan, expanded cooperation through Iran’s Chabahar port and a proposed oil refinery.
The sides also discussed raising bilateral trade to $10 billion and boosting Afghan exports. The report presents this as a target under discussion; it does not describe a signed agreement, financing decision or timetable for reaching it. Azizi said domestic production and completing value chains were among the ministry’s priorities.
