Story details

Mohammad Nasir Amin, head of Herat’s Chamber of Industries and Mines, said at a 27 September press conference that the province had exported more than $9 million in industrial and manufactured products to neighboring countries during the previous month. He said 115 factories across different sectors currently had capacity to export.

The head of Herat’s Agricultural Products Chamber separately reported 17,705 tonnes of agricultural and livestock goods exported over the previous year, generating about $28 million. Representatives of three economic chambers called for export services to be available in Herat so traders would not need to travel to Kabul for procedures; they did not announce a new export programme or target.
