Story details

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the Musaffah Innovation District on 1 October as a long-term programme to upgrade the industrial services area. The Musaffah Revitalization and Development Plan covers land use, infrastructure, mobility, municipal services, public spaces and the business environment. The first phase, running to 2030, includes enabling infrastructure such as the 8th Street and E30 corridors, pilot sites in northern Musaffah and the Northern Waterfront, and an initial release of about 100 hectares of development-ready land.

A second phase from 2030 to 2035 is planned to release more than 100 hectares across investment zones. The authority lists possible clusters in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, electric-vehicle and aerospace supply chains, robotics, energy transition, data centres and life sciences. It also forecasts that full implementation could add 12.3% to GDP, contribute AED227 billion annually and support about 269,800 jobs, 26% of them high-skilled. These are projections for the completed plan, not current economic output or jobs already created; the announcement gives no delivery timetable for each forecast outcome.
