Story details

Pakistan's prime minister directed officials to formulate a comprehensive winter gas load-management plan and run a public awareness campaign, Radio Pakistan reported on 6 October. The meeting considered balancing supply and demand and maintaining continuity in gas imports.

A briefing said domestic gas should be prioritised for households, while re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) would serve power generation and industry. Bank-financed support for households shifting to electric appliances for water and space heating was still under consideration; the report announced no approved programme, import volume, capacity figure or implementation schedule.
