Story details
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said on September 30 that periodic maintenance of the transmission and distribution networks would begin on October 1, 2026. Ministry spokesperson Fatima Jawhar Hayat said the work covers main and secondary substations, overhead lines and underground cables. The ministry described it as part of an annual plan to improve system readiness ahead of the summer season.
Work in some specific areas may require temporary power disconnections. The ministry said schedules for affected areas would be announced through its official social media accounts and that customers would receive notifications through the Sahel government app, using data registered with the Public Authority for Civil Information. It also said a link would be provided to track maintenance progress. The statement did not say that a complete schedule had been published at once.
