Kuwait’s July inflation rate was 2.19% year on year
The Central Statistical Bureau said consumer prices rose 2.19% year on year and 0.21% month on month in July 2026. Food and beverages were up 6.08% annually.
Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) reported an all-items consumer price index of 140.2 for July 2026 in its statistical bulletin. A KUNA report carried by Kuwait Times on 8 October said the data had been released that day. The index rose 0.21% from June and 2.19% from July 2025. The bureau says the series uses 2013 as its base year. The bulletin tracks price changes; it does not measure how much every household’s spending rose or imply that each consumer experienced the same change in living costs.
Food and beverages rose 6.08% year on year, transport 5.54%, and miscellaneous goods and services 4.21%. Month on month, food and beverages increased 1.14% and transport 0.61%, while clothing and footwear fell 0.07%. The index excluding food rose 1.28% over the year. The groups carry different weights, so their contributions to the headline index are not equal. CSB says it collected prices for about 1,400 goods and services from roughly 470 sources and outlets for the index.
