Story details

Eni said its board approved the third-quarter and nine-month 2026 results on 22 October, with the company publishing them the following morning. The group raised its full-year adjusted cash-flow-from-operations outlook to €16.5 billion under a revised price scenario. Eni said the projection was €1.2 billion above the level implied by its original sensitivities, reflecting stronger underlying operations. This is company guidance, not cash flow already realised.

Underlying exploration and production in the third quarter reached 1.83 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, up 7% from a year earlier and 2% sequentially, excluding price effects. Eni attributed the increase to project ramp-ups in West Africa, offshore Mexico and Norway, as well as a full-quarter contribution from the Searah joint venture in Southeast Asia. The company raised its full-year underlying oil and gas production growth outlook to about 6–7%. These are company-reported results and projections; the release does not provide an independent production audit.

Alongside the higher cash-flow outlook, the board resolved to pay an extraordinary dividend of €0.46 per share, or about €1.3 billion in total, scheduled for 9 December. Eni also raised its 2026 share-repurchase plan to €3.8 billion, 12% above the previous-quarter guidance of €3.4 billion. The planned ordinary dividend of €1.10 per share was confirmed, 5% higher than in 2025. The distributions are linked to Eni’s cash-return policy and were presented against specified commodity-price assumptions.

Eni kept gross capital expenditure guidance at €7 billion for 2026 and guided net capital expenditure to below €4.5 billion. Pro forma gearing was expected near the bottom of the company’s 10–15% target range; at the end of the third quarter, net debt was €6.7 billion and pro forma gearing stood at 9%. “Pro forma” reflects the company’s presentation after certain transactions and restructuring; it should not be confused with zero net debt. Enilive and Plenitude, Eni’s transition businesses, reported €1.8 billion in pro forma adjusted EBITDA for the first nine months, up 20% year on year. Eni said Plenitude moved to a different consolidation treatment at the end of September after its agreement with Ares, a factor relevant to interpreting consolidated comparisons.
