Story details

On 30 September, the European Investment Bank said it would provide €100 million for the Dama Solar project in Arad County, western Romania. The solar plant is being developed by Rezolv Energy, with total investment estimated at €728 million and planned peak capacity of about 1.3 GWp.

Once operating, the plant is expected to generate enough electricity annually for more than 280,000 households, equivalent to close to one million people. Construction and related work is expected to require a peak workforce of around 1,500 over three years; this is not a permanent jobs estimate. Two 15-year contracts for difference cover 520 MW of capacity, while the remaining output is planned for market sales and long-term agreements with commercial and industrial customers.
