Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom put economic growth at 5.1% in fiscal 2025/26, up from 4.4% the previous year. Industry, trade and information technology together contributed 48% of growth.
Egypt’s State Information Service reported that Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom said on 11 September that the economy grew 5.1% in fiscal 2025/26, compared with 4.4% in the previous fiscal year. He said industry, trade and information and communications technology together contributed about 48% of total growth.
Rostom put annual inflation at 12.7% in August 2026, compared with 13% in August 2025. He also cited a government goal of raising private investment’s share of total investment from 59% to 64% by 2030. The figures were presented by the minister; the 2030 share is a target, not an achieved result.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
