The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Prime Minister’s Office said the 12th ExpoBéton in Kinshasa ended on 10 October, with Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka presiding over the closing session. In its summary report, the organizing committee recommended planning urban land before it is occupied, giving priority to cadastral work and protecting public spaces and infrastructure.
The report also proposed national construction standards backed by effective oversight, recognition of skills gained through experience, and an integrated roadmap for Kinshasa’s sanitation, mobility, energy and stormwater needs. It called for a national pact on infrastructure and urban transformation involving the state, provinces, cities, private businesses, banks and technical partners. Suminwa said she wanted tangible effects from the conclusions from 2027; the government notice does not say the recommendations have been implemented or funded.
