A Democratic Republic of the Congo delegation emphasized mineral processing and industrial development at the China Mining Conference in Tianjin. Officials presented investment opportunities; no new agreement was announced.
A delegation led by Democratic Republic of the Congo Mines Minister Louis Watum attended the 28th China Mining Conference and Exhibition in Tianjin on 10–12 September. A statement cited by the Agence Congolaise de Presse said the country aims to move beyond extracting and exporting minerals toward local processing, industrialization, skills development and domestic value creation.
At a DRC–China forum alongside the event, mining registry CAMI, Gécamines and FOMIN presented their roles and potential investment opportunities. The report announced no new investment agreement, production volume or capacity increase; it describes the government’s stated direction and its promotion at the conference.

Measurement and privacy details
Google Analytics measurement starts only if you allow it. After consent, automatic measurement may cover scrolls, outbound link clicks, downloads, video engagement, site searches and basic form interactions; search terms may be detected from URL parameters. This site’s own code does not send form field values; email redaction in automatic measurement is best-effort, not guaranteed. Our manual page-view event uses a cleaned URL. You can change your choice later. Visits that begin with consent may also send numeric LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements after Analytics loads. A first or later grant starts this on the next page load; withdrawing consent stops these performance reports for this page. The preference cookie lasts six months; advertising measurement and personalization stay off.
