The Central Bank of Congo’s 2 October weekly note put weekly inflation at 0.13% in the first week of October 2026, down from 0.15% the previous week. The four-week average weekly rate was 0.14%. Food and non-alcoholic beverages accounted for 80.4% of the weekly change in the consumer price index, compared with 54% a week earlier, the bank said.

Cumulative inflation since the start of the year reached 7.4%, against 5.9% in the corresponding period of 2025. The annual rate fell to 3.7% from 7.6% a year earlier. The bank said the monthly price decline in October 2025 could create a base effect in the annual comparison and mechanically lift the annual indicator to 8.8–9.0% by late October; it said this would not indicate a faster weekly pace of price increases.
