Story details

Centrica Energy and storage company Return signed a long-term virtual tolling agreement for 100 MW/400 MWh of battery flexibility in Germany. The capacity will be assembled from multiple physical storage assets in Return’s Virtual Flexibility Portfolio rather than one dedicated battery.

Return provides the assets and operating expertise; Centrica will commercialise the flexibility in wholesale and ancillary-services markets. The announcement does not identify a single site for the contracted capacity and says further flexibility can be added as the portfolio grows.
