Story details
Cadillac Mines released initial assays on 20 October from three holes at the Moriss zone of its Galloway project in Quebec. In hole GAL26-003, Moriss-1 returned 8.02 g/t gold over 3.2 metres and Moriss-2 returned 10.96 g/t over 4.4 metres; the 4.4 metres is the company’s estimated true width. The same hole intersected 6.81 g/t over 3.6 metres at Moriss-3, a previously untested shear. The release covers 2,592 metres across three holes.
The company said the drilling formed part of its 27,500-metre 2026 Galloway program and that Moriss work was complete for the year. Lateral and depth continuity among the three shear zones has not been established; drilling is expected to resume in the first quarter of 2027 to follow up Moriss-3 and test the other zones. A separate 1.0-metre interval grading 11.26 g/t in GAL26-004 is a core length associated with pyrite in pillow basalt, not a shear zone.
