Average monthly nominal salary in Azerbaijan increased 7.2% year on year to 1,176.7 manats in January-July 2026, the State Statistical Committee reported on September 10. It counted 1.7811 million employees as of August 1, including 836,900 in the public sector and 944,200 in the non-public sector.

Trade and vehicle repair accounted for 18.9% of employees, education 17.5% and industry 13.9%; health and social work represented 8.6%, and construction 6.8%. The salary increase is nominal. The release does not provide an inflation-adjusted wage comparison or flows of hiring and departures during the period. The average therefore cannot be read directly as a change in purchasing power or as a measure of job quality.
